Tracks & Media
Creating tracks & populating tracks with media
Creating Tracks
A track is a region of media, most commonly a track is a song. A track can have 3 pieces of media assigned to it - primary, secondary & tertiary which can be either audio or video media. We don't recommend importing files larger than 2 GB.
Drag in multiple media files to the track list (left) to quickly create multiple tracks. One track will be created for each media file, which will fill the primary media slot.
You must specify if the primary media has striped timecode (an audio file with LTC timecode on either the left or right channels) so CuePoints can route LTC correctly (away from your ears). If the primary media has no striped timecode on it, just leave No LTC
(default) selected.
You may, for example, wish to add video content as the secondary media to a track and an audio click track as the tertiary media. Drag these into the slots to add them. Hover over the waveforms to, replace media, delete media or show in the file location finder.
Track Name - Automatically populated with the name of the primary media on import. Offset - Specify the timecode offset of the track, if there is no striped audio the LTC generator will automatically generate from this offset. Framerate - Specify the track framerate and, if generating, the LTC framerate. The default track framerate can be set in Settings. Pre-roll - Add a generated LTC pre-roll to tracks if required. Waveform display - If your primary media does not have LTC striped timecode and is therefore a stereo file, you can choose to display the stereo waveform.
Edit Tracks
The Edit
button will open the selected track to make changes or use keyboard shortcut ⌘ E
. The Edit All Tracks
button bottom left will allow you to scroll between all tracks in the project to make changes.
Track List
The track list displays all the tracks in the project.
Tracks can be dragged to re-arrange the order of the track list.
The prefix of the tracks will automatically re-order after dragging in the track list. The track prefix is customisable or removable within Settings.
Track Colours
Tracks can be assigned a colour which can be useful for indicating track status.

. Right-click the desired track to set Track Colour…
. Tracks can be duplicated with right-click as well as other quick actions such as changing the framerate and replacing primary media.
Media Line-up
Align primary, secondary and tertiary media within a given track that may have varying lengths and require different offsets.
Drag the secondary/tertiary waveforms left and right to align them with the primary media. A manual positive or negative offset can be inputted. The volume balance between all 3 media types can be adjusted using the volume sliders. Additional media can be added in line-up mode if secondary/tertiary slots are not already populated.
Visibility of Media
Hide or show each media type in timeline playback
Right-click on media viewer Hide / Show Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Media
or go to
Track > Hide / Show Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Media
Media Popout Window
The window allows for a specified media slot to be viewed in its own resizable window, super handy for capturing video content via NDI to a visualiser.
Select the desired popout: Window > Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Media popout
Missing Media
If media files are moved, deleted or become offline (via a cloud syncing service) they will be displayed in the Missing Media window.
Missing files will be flagged when opening projects. You can select a file path to search for missing media. You can choose to proceed to open the project with missing media and if you wish to locate it at a later point use Tools > Locate Missing Media
